Pack 198 News

03/04/2003 Don't forget that the Pinewood Derby has been rescheduled for April 4. We will also have our regular Pack Meeting on April 25.

03/04/2003 When creating your Pinewood Derby cars, don't forget to check out the rules for the cars. If the boys win the pack championship, they will be able to go on to the district races, which adhere strongly to these - we want to make sure they get to race!

09/12/2002 Pack 198's Boy Talk was held on Tuesday the 10th, and there were a lot of enthusiastic boys at each presentation. We look forward to seeing them at tonight's Roundup, to be held at Prarieview (7:00 p.m.). If you're a leader, make plans to attend and give us, and the attending families, a hand in introducing them to the Scouting program!

07/07/2002 Pack 198 Leaders! Be sure to plan on attending the annual Roundup on 8/22/2002 at the regular Roundtable meeting. This meeting will give you a heads up on what is planned for the upcoming year, as well as the several opportunities that are out there for us all.

For more information on Roundtables, as well as the current training schedule, be sure to check out the Chippewa District Web site...

03/16/2002 Our Pinewood Derby was held on Friday, March 15th, and it was a GREAT time! There were a lot of very close races, as only thousandths of a second separated many of the Cubs. As a matter of fact, the nine Pack finalists were separated by only 55 thousanths from first to ninth!

For a look at who will be representing our Pack at District, take a look at the Pinewood Page, and for a look at all the winning Cubs and their cars, check out our Meeting Photos.

02/20/2002 Our Blue and Gold Banquet was a great time, due in no small part to the efforts of Sue Meister. Of course, some of the most important things were the advancements of our Cubs. We had most eligible Wolf Den members awarded their Wolf Badges, and 100% of our Bear Den Cubs were awarded their Bear Badges! Additionally, one of our new Wolf Den members got his Bobcat badge...

Also, and very importantly, our Webelos Den celebrated their crossover to Boy Scouts, with five of six Webelos Scouts bridging over. A big hand for all our Cubs and their achievements!

02/02/02 Do you have a Cub Scout that has actively recruited another Cub Scout into the program? If so, please be sure to get them a "Recruiter" badge to wear on their uniform.
All that is required is that the boy has invited another boy, who subsequently entered the program (registration form and fees must have been submitted to the Pack).

02/02/02 We are still in need of filling several leadership positions within the Pack. Most of these require very little of your time, yet fill needs we have to support our Cubs. If you can help out, whether in a Committee, Pack or Special Event position, please let us know! You can see what positions are currently vacant by visiting our Leader Roster page...
